Thank You!

Thank you to everyone at the Meadowlands YMCA, especially Pastor, Ron, and Katrina. I've learned so many valuable lessons that I will take with me to college and keep with me after college. This experience made me realize that I really love sports management and it is what I want to do in the future. I will be attending Assumption College majoring in Sports Management.

Setting Up the Gym

Whenever a new sport or activity was happening, it was my job to prep the gym and have everything set up for the instructors to work. I also had to make sure everything was safe for little kids so nobody would get hurt.

Getting New Programs Approved

Once I came up with the idea for a new program, I had to take the plans up to the head of marketing, the chief finance officer, and the CEO and convince them advertise the program with flyers and fund it.

Researching New Sports and Activities

I had the job of researching new sports that were becoming popular in the area and if the sports would be a good business opportunity for the YMCA. I also had to research what sports or activities local schools were offering for gym class.

Here is an example of the sports and activities that I researched.

Creating Lesson Plans

I had the job of creating lesson plans for different sports and activities the YMCA wanted to offer to their customers. My job was to make it as easy for the instructor to follow the lesson and come up with different games to keep the customers active and not standing around.

Here is an example of the lesson plans I created. They include a warm up, cool down, and different games for the kids to play.
